Position: Handbook Author/Team of Authors
Service: Development of the “Handbook for youth workers with exercises and information on how to promote inclusion of marginalized young people and youth at risk through youth work”
Location: Yerevan
Type of Contract: Service Contract
Work Plan: The work plan will be made together with APY.
Fees: The total amount for the contract to be negotiated based on the proposition and experience of the service provider.
Payment: A final payment will be made upon the approval of the submitted deliverables.

Working Conditions
● Based in Yerevan;
● Deliverable-based contract starting from 01.03.2022;
● Contract according to Armenian Labour Code.

About the Position
APY NGO is looking for inclusion experts (trainer, youth worker, youth program manager, etc.) for the development of a “Handbook for youth workers with exercises and information on how to promote the inclusion of marginalized groups and youth at risk through youth work”.

Deliverables
● Collecting and analyzing tools and best practices from partner organizations and other stakeholders;
● Drafting sections and chapters of the publication from the material collected (the tentative chapter division is available below):

  1. Introductory remarks
  2. About the partner organizations
  3. Concepts and approaches concerning inclusion and diversity
  4. The foundations and principles of inclusive youth work
  5. International best practices of inclusive youth work
  6. Case studies on social inclusion of the youth
  7. Tools and methods for assessing the capacities and impact of the organization in the field of inclusion and diversity in youthwork
  8. Recommendations for promoting inclusive youth work
  9. Concluding remarks
  10. Further reading

● Editing the final draft (e.g. making cross references within the publication and to external sources, making the text flow, coherent style and structure throughout the publication);
● Submitting the publication draft (minimum 150 pages (Arial, Font size: 11, Line spacing: 1.15)) in English language for discussion in accordance with an established timetable.

The best practices descriptions, case studies and recommendations should cover, but not be limited to the following themes:
○ Inclusion
○ Equality and equity
○ Social cohesion
○ Social justice
○ Nonviolence
○ Youth empowerment
○ Youth participation in social, cultural, political and economic domains

Required Qualifications
● Excellent communication skills
● Excellent command of written and spoken Armenian and English
● Proven ability to design and implement youth capacity building activities
● Experience in youth work and youth policy design
● Demonstrated writing ability and competence with Microsoft Word
● A demonstrated interest in issues of inclusion and social cohesion
