During the previous 8 months, Armenian Progressive Youth NGO conducted a series of employment and entrepreneurship courses, within the framework of the second school of the W-EMPOWER project. The project gathered women with various specialties and interests from different regions of Armenia. The project was an opportunity for the participants to learn new skills, become more competitive and create a network. As a result of the program, 48 project participants received knowledge on a number of topics. Participants had the opportunity to take personal development courses, such as: CV writing, job interview, motivation and cover letters, communication and e-mail writing, generating innovative business ideas, finance and budgeting, business plan creation.
At the end of the training, the participants made speeches to receive grants, scholarships, and internship opportunities. 6 participants were selected for scholarships, 10 participants for internships, and 25 participants for grant opportunities. The participants presented their business ideas, from the production of soap, and the establishment of a guest house to the modeling of clothes, and the making of dolls and cakes. Most of them have already started the second phase of the project (internships, grants, scholarships) and mention that this has been a life-changing opportunity for them.
At the closing ceremony of the project, the participants had a chance to share their impressions and experience of the project with the whole group. One of the participants mentioned that before the project she had no idea she could ever receive a chance to leave her comfort zone and try to learn new skills. To her, this was a whole new experience since she had never been able to even think about working before in her life. Another participant said that she was fascinated by the trainers of the project who were always ready to help the participants to get the most out of this experience.

In November of last year with the financial support of European Youth Foundation, we have kicked off “Media Literacy Ambassadors: Advancing Media Literacy and Digital Participation among Regional Youth in Armenia” project that aims to equip young people in 3 borderline regions of Armenia (Syunik, Gegharkunik and Tavush) with key media literacy skills: critical thinking, fact checking, online safety, social media verification, and quality assessment of online information and their sources through a 7-day dedicated training course, tailored to local youth needs.
After the Training Course our young regional participants started their own small initiatives becoming young media literacy ambassadors in their communities. We decided to talk to few of them to see how “far” they have gone.
Laura Mkrtchyan – My name is Laura, I am 17 years old and I study in the 11th grade of Gavar Secondary School. I am actively involved in volunteering activities and also take part in many interesting projects. I have not selected the main field of my future studies yet, because I see myself in many different sectors, that is why I still continue to study different topics to find the one which is the closest to my heart. I want to develop myself as a self-taught person and I always like to share new knowledge with my friends, classmates, and young people in my community.
Participating in the “Media Literacy Ambassadors: Advancing Media Literacy and Digital Participation among Regional Youth in Armenia” project hosted by APY, I gained a lot of knowledge about media. This project has been very exceptional for me since I have participated with big interest in the topic and I am delighted to have had the opportunity to participate in the project. Right after the end of the training, I started organizing local workshops in my community in Gavar, transferring the knowledge I gained to the youth of my community. In addition, I helped the adults to distinguish between fake and real social media pages and posts on social networks.
In the future, I’m going to organize more trainings and meetings, because media literacy is a very demanded topic in our current reality. We are all a part of social media and we often become victims of fake news and other threats present on social media. Let’s altogether create more media literate Armenia.
Sona Bakunts – Hello, my name is Sona, I am from Syunik, from the depths of deep mountains. I lived and grew up in the Verishen community. I am currently a student, studying at the State University of Goris, Department of Armenian Language and Literature. At the same time, I work in the ‘’Bari Sirt’’ Charitable Foundation as a programs coordinator. I have many hobbies – dancing, doing sports, reading, etc.
Last year, in November I participated in one-week “Media Literacy Ambassadors” Training activity organized by my very favorite APY NGO. As a result of the training, we gained a lot of knowledge about media, we raised important media literacy issues, got a full understanding of the field, as we had learned to create podcasts, and studied one of the most important and actual topics of nowadays – cyber security.
After completing the course, I carried out large-scale activities. I have organized numerous knowledge-based courses for students of Artsakh State University, students of Verishen Secondary School, staff of Verishen Elementary School, women employees of Faberlic Company and Soft Martakert in the field of media literacy and cybersecurity.
Heriknaz Arzumanyan – My name is Heriknaz and I am an SMM Specialist. I also deliver trainings of Computer Science and Media Literacy. I have been working as an SMM specialist for about 4 years. After the “Media Literacy Ambassadors” TC in cooperation with “The Armenian Center for Human Rights Protection after A. D. Sakharov’’ NGO in Syunik region, we have conducted 4 trainings and created 2 videos on fact-checking and media literacy using the presentations of the project.
Several workshops were held in Goris, as well as in the villages of Karahunj and Akner. I also conducted 1 workshop in the border village of Vaghatur. In the near future, I plan to conduct online training courses for the border villages of the Tegh community, also in Goris, as I have a preliminary agreement with the youth of Hrant Baghdagulyan’s Studio, according to which non-formal seminars are allowed to be conducted.
Lilit Shahbazyan – My name is Lilit, I am a social pedagogue by profession. I work as a social worker at the “Little Prince” social center in Gavar city of Gegharkunik region, which is a branch of the “Armenian Caritas” charitable NGO. Participating in the “Media Literacy Ambassadors” training course conducted by “Armenian Progressive Youth” NGO in November of last year, on February 2-7 of of this year, I conducted my own seminar on “Media Literacy” for the students of the “Little Prince” Center in Gavar of the Armenian Caritas.
During the training we studied how to navigate through online resources and websites, fact-checking, digital marketing, podcasts, and cyber security. Every workshop included practical tasks, expanding participants’ skills and abilities, enriching their knowledge.
Nonna Mirzoyan – I am Nonna from Goris community, I am a literture critic by profession, but I have been working in the field of public relations and media for 5 years already, working in the public relations and media department of Goris State University as a person in charge.
Currently, as a volunteer for Sose Women Issues NGO, I work in the public sphere, participating in various NGO programs aimed at creating a healthy civil society environment in the region, youth activism, and improving youth participation in community issues.
I am currently taking English language courses as well. I am a life-loving, dreamy person, I like to sing, dance, recite and travel.2021 In November 2021, I participated in the ” Media Literacy Ambassadors” program of the “Armenian Progressive Youth” NGO, being trained by a group of talented young people from different regions of Armenia by leading specialists in the Armenian media sector. With one of the participants representing Syunik, Melanya Tosyan, who has been presenting to the program, since December 2021, we have conducted “Media Literacy” courses in Shinuhair, Halidzor settlements of Tat community, Syunik region. conveying to them what was enthusiastically accepted by the participants, as I would like to mention that there were also suggestions from the management of other schools, which, depending on some technical issues, we have not implemented yet.
We have launched the “Media Literacy on the Border” page on the Facebook social platform (again with Melania), where we regularly present the courses we have conducted and provide media knowledge to our followers through various interesting publications, who are mainly media consumers in Syunik region.Frankly, due to material means, we have interrupted some of our work, with the intention of continuing in the future if there are means. I should mention that the media sphere has big gaps in the region, we became more convinced of that after the organization of the courses.
In the coming months, I am going to continue my volunteer work within the framework of the mentioned programs, to have a main job in the public sphere, to organize media courses, as well as to continue my education in this direction.
Անցյալ տարվա նոյեմբերին Եվրոպական երիտասարդական հիմնադրամի ֆինանսական աջակցությամբ մենք մեկնարկեցինք «Եղի՛ր տեղեկացված. մեդիագրագիտության, թվային գրագիտության և կիբերգրագիտության խթանում՝ Տավուշի, Գեղարքունիքի և Սյունիքի երիտասարդների շրջանում» ծրագիրը, որի նպատակն է Հայաստանի 3 սահմանամերձ մարզերի (Սյունիք, Գեղարքունիք և Տավուշ) բնակվող 18-ից 30 տարեկան երիտասարդների, երիտասարդ առաջնորդների և երիտասարդական աշխատողների թվային մասնակցությունը՝ զարգացնելով նրանց գիտելիքներն ու կարողությունները մեդիագրագիտության, փաստերի ստուգման, կիբեռգրագիտության և թվային գրագիտության ոլորտներում՝ տրամադրելով նրանց մենթորություն և թվային գործիքներ իրենց համայնքներում մեդիագրագիտությանն ուղղված հանրային իրազեկման և տեղեկատվական արշավների իրականացման համար։
Վերապատրաստման դասընթացից հետո մեր երիտասարդ մարզային մասնակիցները սկսեցին իրենց փոքրիկ նախաձեռնությունները՝ դառնալով մեդիագրագիտության երիտասարդ դեսպաններ իրենց համայնքներում: Մենք որոշեցինք զրուցել նրանցից մի քանիսի հետ՝ տեսնելու, թե որքան «հեռու» են նրանք գնացել։
Լաուրա Մկրտչյան – Ես Մկրտչյան Լաուրան եմ`17 տարեկան։ Սովորում եմ Գավառի թիվ 2 միջնակարգ դպրոցի 11-րդ դասարանում։ Զբաղվում եմ ակտիվ կամավորությամբ և մասնակցում եմ հետաքրքիր ծրագրերի։ Ապագա մասնագիտությունս դեռ չեմ որոշել, քանի որ ինձ յուրաքանչյուր ոլորտում պատկերացնում եմ և այդ իսկ պատճառով դեռ շարունակում եմ ուսումնասիրել տարբեր ոլորտներ` գտնելու ինձ առավել հոգեհարազատը։ Շատ եմ սիրում ինքնակրթվել և միշտ իմ ստացած նոր գիտելիքները կիսվում եմ իմ ընկերների, համադասարանցիների և համայնքի երիտասարդների հետ։
Մասնակցելով «Մեդիագրագիտության դեսպանները» ծրագրին ստացա նոր գիտելիքներ մեդիայի մասին։ Այս ծրագիրը այն հատուկենտ ծրագրերից էր, որին շատ մեծ հետաքրքրությամբ եմ մասնակցել ու շատ ուրախ եմ, որ եղել եմ այդ երջանիկ հաջողակներից մեկը, ով ստացել է հնարավորություն մասնակցելու ծրագրին։ Ծրագրի ավարտից անմիջապես հետո իմ համայնքում անցկացրել եմ շատ դասընթացներ և իմ ստացած գիտելիքները փոխանցել եմ համայնքի երեխաներին և երիտասարդներին։ Բացի այդ նաև օգնել եմ մեծահասակներին տարբերել սոցկայքերում իրական էջերն ու փոստերը կեղծից։
Ապագայում ևս պատրաստում եմ իրականացնել մի քանի հանդիպումներ, քանի որ սա այն թեման է, որը շատ արդի է մեր այժմյան կյանքում։ Բոլորս էլ գրանցված ենք սոցկայքերում և հաճախ ենք դառնում կեղծ լուրերի զոհը։
Այս ամենից խուսափելու համար պետք է շարունակենք կրթվել և կրթել, որպեսզի ունենանք մեդիագրագետ Հայաստան։
Սոնա Բակունց – Բարի ողջույն, ես Սոնա Բակունցն եմ, սյունեցի եմ՝ անդնդախոր լեռների գրկից: Ապրել և մեծացել եմ Վերիշեն համայնքում՝ Ձագեձորի և Յոլու աղբյուրի պարզությամբ և հպարտությամբ: Այժմ ուսանող եմ, սովորում եմ ԳՊՀ-ում, Հայոց լեզու և գրականություն բաժնում: Զուգահեռ աշխատում եմ «Բարի սիրտ» բարեգործական հիմնադրամում, որպես ծրագրերի համակարգող: Ունեմ բազմաթիվ նախասիրություններ՝ պար, սպորտ, ընթերցանություն և այլն:
Անցյալ տարի՝ 2021թվականին նոյեմբերի 5-12-ը մասնկացել եմ իմ շատ սիրելի APY-ի կողմից կազմակերպված Մեդիագրագիության դեսպաններ մեկ շաբաթյա դասընթացներին: Դասընթացը համեմված էր համապարփակ հագեցվածությամբ, անպարագիծ կարևորություն ունեցող գիտելիքներով: Դասընթացի արդյունքում ուսումնասիրեցինք և բարձրաձայնեցինք մեդիագրագիտական կարևոր հարցեր և ստացանք լիարժեք գիտելիքներ այդ ոլորտից, ինչպես նաև սովորեցինք պատրաստել փոդքասթներ, ծանոթացանք և ուսումնասիրեցինք մերօրյա կարևորագույն ոլորտներից մեկին՝ կիբեռանվտանգությունը:
Դասընթացի ավարտից հետո իրականացրել եմ լայնածավալ գործունեություն: Կազմակերպել եմ բազմաթիվ գիտելիքահեն դասընթացներ՝ Ֆաբերլիկ ընկերության աշխատակիցների, Արցախի պետական համալսարանի ուսանողների, Վերիշենի միջնակարգ դպրոցի աշակերտների, Վերիշենի նախակրթարանի աշխատակիցների, Փափուկ Մարտակերտի (Soft Martakert) համար՝ մեդիագրագիտություն և կիբեռանվանգություն թեմաների շրջանակներում:
Հերիքնազ Արզումանյան – Ես Հերիքնազ Արզումանյանն եմ, SMM մասնագետ, Համակարգչային հմտությունների և մեդիագրագիտության դասընթացավար: Աշխատում եմ որպես SMM մասնագետ մոտ 4 տարի:
Այս շրջանում «Ա. Դ. Սախարովի անվ. մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության հայկական կենտրոն» ՀԿ-ի Սյունիքի մասնաճյուղի հետ իրականացրել ենք 4 դասընթաց և պատրաստել ենք 2 տեսանյութ՝ փաստերի ստուգման և մեդիագրագիտության վերաբերյալ:Դասընթացները եղել են Գորիսում, ինչպես նաև Քարահունջ և Ակներ գյուղերում։ 1 դասընթաց իրականացրել եմ սահմանամերձ Վաղատուր գյուղում։
Առաջիկայում պլանավորում եմ օնլայն դասընթացներ իրականացնել Տեղ համայնքի սահմանամերձ գյուղերում, նաև Գորիս քաղաքում, քանի որ Հրանտ Բաղդագյուլյանի Արվեստանոցի երիտասարդների հետ ունեմ նախնական պայմանավորվածություն, ըստ որի պետք է մեդիագրագիտության դասընթացներ իրականացնել։
Լիլիթ Շահբազյան – Ես Լիլիթն եմ, մասնագիտությամբ սոցիալական մանկավարժ, աշխատում եմ «Հայկական Կարիտաս» բարեսիրական ՀԿ-ի Գավառի «Փոքրիկ Իշխան» սոցիալական կենտրոնում, որպես սոցիալական աշխատող։ Մասնակցելով «Մեդիագրագիտության դեսպանները» դասընթացին, որը իրականացվել է «Հայ առաջադեմ երիտասարդություն» ՀԿ կողմից, ս/թ փետրվարի 2-7-ը Հայկական Կարիտասի՝ Գավառի «Փոքրիկ Իշխան» կենտրոնի սաների համար իրականացրել եմ դասընթաց «Մեդիագրագիտություն» թեմայով։
Դասընթացների ընթացքում ուսումնասիրել ենք հետևյալ թեմաները՝ «Ինչպես կողմնորոշվել առցանց աղբյուրներում․ կայքեր և սոցիալական ցանցեր», «Փաստերի ստուգում», «Թվային մարքեթինգ», «Փոդքաստներ», «Կիբեռանվտանգություն»։ Յուրաքնաչյուր դասընթաց ընթացել է գործնական առաջադրանքներով՝ մասնակիցներին մոտ զարգացնելով մեր օրերի համար կարևոր հմտություններ, կարողություններ, ձևավորելով նոր գիտելիքներ։
Նոնա Միրզոյան – Ես Նոննա Միրզոյանն եմ Գորիս համայնքից, մասնագիտությամբ գրականագետ եմ, բայց արդեն 5 տարի է, ինչ գործունեություն եմ ծավալում հանրային կապերի և լրատվության ոլորտում՝ աշխատելով Գորիսի պետական համալսարանի հանրային կապերի և լրատվության բաժնում՝ որպես պատասխանատու։ Այժմ լինելով “Սոսե Կանանց Հիմնահարցեր” հասարակական կազմակերպության կամավոր՝ գործունեություն եմ ծավալում հասարակական ոլորտում՝ մասնակցելով նշյալ ՀԿ֊ի և այլ հասարակական կազմակերպությունների տարբեր ծրագրերին՝ ուղղված տարածաշրջանում քաղաքացիական հասարակության առողջ միջավայրի ձևավորմանը, երիտասարդների հասարակական ակտիվության և համայնքային խնդիրների լուծման ուղղությամբ երիտասարդների մասնակցության բարելավմանը , սահմանամերձ տարածքներում մեդիագրագիտության ոլորտի զարգացմանը և այլն։ Այժմ մասնակցում եմ նաև անգլերեն լեզվի դասընթացների։ Կենսասեր եմ, երազկոտ հումանիստ և հայրենասեր, աշխույժ, բեմական, սիրում եմ երգել, պարել, ասմունքել, ճանապարհորդել։
2021թ. նոյեմբերին մասնակցել եմ “Հայ առաջադեմ երիտասարդություն” հկ֊ի “Մեդիագրագիտության դեսպաններ” ծրագրին՝ Հայաստանի տարբեր մարզերի մի խումբ շնորհաշատ երիտասարդների հետ վերապատրաստվելով հայաստանյան մեդիաոլորտի առաջատար մասնագետների կողմից։ Ծրագրին Սյունիքը ներկայացնող ևս մեկ մասնակցի՝ Մելանյա Թևոսյանի հետ, 2021թ.֊ի դեկտեմբերից Սյունիքի մարզի Տաթև համայնքի Շինուհայր և Հալիձոր բնակավայրերում անցկացրել ենք “Մեդիագրագիտության” դասընթացներ նշյալ համայնքների դպրոցների ավագ դասարանների աշակերտների, ինչպես նաև նրանց ծնողների հետ՝ ծրագրին մեր ստացած տեսական և գործնական գիտելիքները փոխանցելով նրանց, ինչը ոգևորությամբ է ընդունվել մասնակիցների կողմից, ինչպես նաև նշեմ, որ առաջարկներ են եղել նաև այլ դպրոցների ղեկավարության կողմից, ինչը տեխնիկական որոշ հարցերից կախված՝ դեռևս չենք իրականացրել։
Ֆեյսբուք սոցիալական հարթակում գործարկել ենք (կրկին Մելանյայի հետ) “Մեդիագրագիտությունը սահմանին” էջը, որտեղ պարբերաբար ներկայացնում ենք մեր իրականացրած դասընթացներն ու տարբեր հետաքրքիր հրապարակումներով մեդիագիտելիքներ ենք հաղորդում մեր հետևորդներին, որոնք հիմնականում Սյունիքի մարզի մեդիասպառողներն են։ Անկեղծ ասած՝ նյութական միջոցների պատճառով՝ ընդհատել ենք մեր որոշ աշխատանքները, միջոցներ լինելու դեպքում հետագայում շարունակելու նպատակամիտմամբ։ Նշեմ, որ մեդիաոլորտը մեծ բացեր ունի տարածաշրջանում, և մենք դրանում ավելի համոզվեցինք դասընթացների կազմակերպումից հետո։Առաջիկա ամիսներին պատրաստվում եմ շարունակել կամավորական աշխատանքս նշյալ ծրագրերի շրջանակներում, նաև ունենալ հիմնական աշխատանք հասարակական ոլորտում, կազմակերպել մեդիադասընթացներ, ինչպես նաև շարունակել կրթությունս այս ուղղությամբ։
The expectation is a tricky thing; even only based on this word’s core definition, you can never be sure about it. I can’t be certain if intuition or gut feeling exists but the thing is initially I wasn’t even supposed to participate in this project; due to my hectic and chaotic lifestyle, I somehow missed the deadline for applying, but then suddenly from nowhere I felt an untamable desire to take part in it, so I wrote an exceptionally good motivational letter (which still remains unread), edited my CV and applied with a hope that they hadn’t chosen participants already and I stood a chance; unfortunately, they had, but, maybe it really was fate, I still ended up as a participant in this project, I’ll leave the deep details for myself, but will share one important thing I realized in this whole applying process – sometimes not adhering rules will get you further then simply obeying them, the problematic issue about this philosophy is that you don’t know when to risk and when to restrain yourself. Armenia was going to be the first country I needed my passport to visit, obviously, I was excited! I promised myself that I would get most of the time I spend there not only seeing the landscapes but also experiencing the culture, talking to people, learning the language a bit, discussing socio-political situations, historical relationships with my country, etc. and now as the project is over, I can proudly say that more or less I have satisfied my wishes.
Naturally, I had content-wise expectations, the subject of this project was a quite sensitive one; the reason why this particular training course arose interest in me isn’t homogeneous; It is blatant that online hate speech is uncontrollably rampant; it is a hot issue that needs to be addressed quickly and properly. It is a severe issue that poses a threat to democracy and human rights; thus, it is a huge challenge to resolve this problem. Throughout our training course, using interactive, inclusive, fun but still laborious (in a good way) activities, sparkling dialogues among people of various nationalities, I believe that we got equipped with adequate knowledge and practical skills to work on solving this issue. I guess, the purpose of the project was fulfilled and everyone who devoted time, energy, and effort to this project becoming a reality and succeeding should be overjoyed themselves.
Just the same I had expectations and some fears about people, however, from the very first moment I met some of them, from the very first evening we gathered and introduced ourselves in a very organized but still fun manner, all my nervousness faded away. During these eight unforgettable days we lived in our small bubble, we became a very close community, a big family where everyone is included and everybody feels safe, heard, and appreciated. It’s very rare that you bond with newly met people so easily, but, I guess, we got lucky to find each other here and have an opportunity to create long-lasting connections, an international network.
Erasmus is really about people, and the people I met there taught me numerous life lessons. This trip was full of new experiences, new feelings, and crazy adventures. Impressions from the project will haunt me forever and, I reckon, it’s the same for the others. As this important part of our lives is over, I’m left with an odd mixed feeling of immense sadness and even bigger happiness. I suppose that I speak on behalf of everyone when I say that ever since we got to our homelands, we’ve been struggling a lot to readjust to our own realities and get back to our daily routines. Even though we all lead quite different and distinctive lifestyles, I strongly believe that in this technological era we will maintain our relationships. The only thing there’s left for me to say is that I’m forever grateful for every single one of the people I met there, this week and our precious cottage number 7 shall never be forgotten!
Hate speech has a significant impact on people, as it increases cases of low self-esteem, anxiety, and even suicide. Unfortunately, the amount of such cases seems to increase together with the use of social media. That is why, for one week, from the18th till the 26th of April, Armenian Progressive Youth NGO jointly with 10 organizations has been running a compelling Training Course in Dilijan for 30 young people, youth workers, and educators from the EU (Italy, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Greece) and Neighboring Partner countries (Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine).
Dilijan is surrounded by a national park, and close to several lakes that the group has explored together. This helped to create an open environment for our participants to speak freely about personal experiences of hate speech.
The training course has taken participants on an interactive, action-oriented journey in countering hate speech. The course aimed to develop the competencies of young people to combat hate speech online and offline by giving them an opportunity to be part of different sessions such as on, media literacy, fact-checking, online data protection, social media campaigns, podcasting, and much more. Participants gained an understanding of what hate speech is (and what is not); the various forms it can take; its causes and consequences.
Participants were addressing the effects of hate speech, such as the exclusion of immigrants, the discrimination against LGTBQIA+, and the inequality between women and men. This was done by role-playing and sharing personal stories. By doing so, the group got a better understanding of the different situations people found themselves in.
As an effect, the group came up with several tools. For example, youth workers from Belarus, Denmark, Greece, and Italy talked about their personal experiences with hate speech against immigrants in a podcast. Another example was the photo campaign, to show the support from youth workers across several countries to counter hate speech towards immigrants. It even led to a flash mob, in the center of Dilijan!
The project also consisted of several intercultural nights during which all the participants could represent their country and culture. This resulted in the group learning several traditional dances, eating food from all over Europe, and having a greater knowledge of the participating countries. For example, did you know that Easter is celebrated on different dates across Europe? And that meatballs with spaghetti are not Italian but American?
All in all, CONNECT – countering hate speech was a great success. This was because of our great trainers, provided by Nous NGO and APY, and the youth workers from Italy, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Greece, Armenia, Belarus, Moldova, and Ukraine.

Մեր Մասին
Հայ առաջադեմ երիտասարդությունը (ՀԱԵ) Հայաստանում ակտիվ երիտասարդական գործունեություն ծավալող հասարակական կազմակերպություն է։ ՀԱԵ-ն պաշտոնապես հիմնադրվել է 2009-ին Երևանում։ Մենք շահույթ չհետապնդող, ոչ քաղաքական կազմակերպություն ենք, որի նպատակն է աջակցել, ոգեշնչել և ներգրավել երիտասարդներին Հայաստանից և նրա սահմաններից դուրս՝ զարգացնելու իրենց սոցիալ-առաջնորդական հմտությունները, նպաստելու քաղաքացիական պատասխանատվության բարձրացմանը և ուղղորդելու գործել որպես դրական փոփոխությունների շարժիչ ուժ։ Տարբեր ծրագրերի և ոչ-ֆորմալ կրթական մեթոդների միջոցով ՀԱԵ-ն օգնում է երիտասարդներին հաջողել՝ համոզված լինելով, որ նրանք կզարգացնեն իրենց գիտելիքները, հմտությունները, վերաբերմունքը և կարողությունները ներգրավվելու ժամանակակից աշխարհում։

Որպես երիտասարդական կազմակերպություն՝ Հայ առաջադեմ երիտասարդություն հասարակական կազմակերպությունը կազմակերպում է տեղական և միջազգային դասընթացներ, երիտասարդական փոխանակման ծրագրեր, տալիս է կրթաթոշակների և կամավորության հնարավորություններ: ՀԱԵ-ի անդամները բացառիկ հնարավորություն ունեն մասնակցելու Հայ առաջադեմ երիտասարդություն ՀԿ-ի և Եվրոպական միության և հարևան երկրների շուրջ 200 գործընկերների կողմից կազմակերպած ծրագրերին: Կազմակերպությանն անդամակցելը հնարավորություն կտա Ձեզ մասնակցել միջոցառումների, որոնք նպաստում են միջմշակութային հաղորդակցության, անձնական և մասնագիտական զարգացմանը:
Կազմակերպության անդամ դառնալով դուք կստանաք հնարավորություն՝
միանալու Հայաստանում ամենամեծ երիտասարդական կազմակերպություններից մեկին,
մասնակցելու Հայաստանում և արտասահմանում կազմակերպության տեղական և միջազգային ոչ ֆորմալ կրթական դասընթացներին և ծրագրերին,
որոշելու կազմակերպության աշխատանքային ուղղությունները և նպատակները,
մասնակցելու կազմակերպության ռազմավարական պլանավորման և որոշումների ընդունման գործընթացներին,

Կազմակերպության Կառավարիչ խորհրդի անդամներից տեղեկանքներ ստանալու՝ աշխատանքի, ուսման կամ այլ հնարավորությունների դիմելու ժամանակ
ստանալ կազմակերպության կանոնադրությամբ սահմանված այլ արտոնություններ։
Կազմակերպության անդամ կարող է դառնալ Հայաստանի Հանրապետության, ինչպես նաև օտարերկրյա ցանկացած քաղաքացի և քաղաքացիություն չունեցող անձ, ով ցանկանում է մասնակցել նրա գործունեությանը և ընդունում է կազմակերպության կանոնադրությունը և արժեքները։
Անդամությունը թարմացվում է ամեն տարի: Տարեկան անդամավճարը կազմում է 10.000 ՀՀ դրամ:

APY is a youth organization based in Yerevan, Armenia. Officially founded in 2009, APY is a non-profit, non-political organization aiming to support, inspire and engage young people from Armenia and all over the world to develop their social leadership skills, take their civic responsibility and act as change-makers. Through different projects, initiatives, and non-formal education tools APY helps young people to succeed, ensuring that they develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and competencies to fit into the modern world.

OUR PROJECTS
As a youth organization who supports the exchange of ideas between the young people in Armenia and abroad, Armenian Progressive Youth NGO organizes local and international training courses, youth exchange programs, fellowships and volunteering opportunities. APY members have an exclusive opportunity to participate in the projects organized by Armenian Progressive Youth NGO and its 200 partners in the European Union and the Neighbouring countries. Membership to the organization will give you the chance to take part in events that promote intercultural communication, personal and professional development.
By becoming a member of the organization you will get the opportunity to:
To become a part of one of the biggest youth networks in Armenia;
To participate in non-formal educational training courses and projects organized by APY in Armenia and abroad;
To decide the working directions as well as the goals and objectives of the organization;
To elect and get elected in the governing bodies of the organization;
To be involved in the strategic planning and decision making processes within the organization;
To participate in the elections of the Governing Board (GB) Members as well as to be nominated as a GB Member;

Membership call is open for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia as well as for foreign citizens and people who don’t have citizenship and want to participate in the activities of the APY NGO and accept the Statute and the values of the organization.
The membership is renewed every year. The annual membership fee is 10.000 AMD.

For young people, it’s crucial to explore their potential and passions and take the first steps toward realizing their own ideas for positive change in society. Creating networks and communities is of equal importance – a lack of network is a big part of why some young people don’t feel like they can lead change and have a positive impact.
This is why Armenian Progressive Youth NGO and Fryshuset jointly implement a project called ԻՄPower (stands for MY-power in Armenian). ԻՄPower is a platform where young people are offered tools, netwnetworksaching, and experience that empowers them to initiate, drive and lead change. The project targeted young people from Yerevan and young people who relocated to Yerevan as a result of the armed conflict in 2020.
Capacity-building training within the project is now over. It served as a great platform where young people discovered topics such as self-leadership and empowerment, values and value-based leadership, navigating conflict and change, project management and social entrepreneurship, etc. The project provided participants with tools that empower and inspire them to improve their communities. The training was built on experiential learning which means that participants worked with both theoretical methods and experienced them at the same time.
By meaningfully engaging in the project participants gained skills and a sense of empowerment and made connections with their peers with similar ambitions and ideas for community development.
ԻՄPower project participants shared their impressions about the project:
Davit Ghevondyan, 22: “I have great impressions of the trainers: they were very professional and always filled us with knowledge, skills, and energy. The teaching methods that they used were quite different from the methods which are used in our educational system. The knowledge and skills that we acquired during the project are very applicable in our daily lives, work, and studies, so I am extremely happy to be a part of ԻՄPower”.
Zhanna Asoyan, 21: “I had a lot of expectations from the project, such as getting new skills to easily engaged in the society, getting communication skills, networking skills, spending a great time, etc. I can happily mention that this project gave me more than I expected. During the project, we discussed many interesting and engaging topics, such as inclusion, diversity, leadership, and conflict resolution, and I was really impressed and grateful to get this opportunity to learn more about these topics with the help of such skilled and experienced trainers”.
The project helped young people to benefit from each other’s skills, knowledge, and capacities. Benefits for young people also include enhancing individual development as it provides youth with opportunities to generate real community change. The project was an important stepping stone on the pathway that will lead to all sorts of new future directions.
The participants who successfully participated in the capacity-building training are currently implementing their community projects. Next year, they will gain a chance to become trainers and mentors for the next group of participants.
The project is implemented by the Armenian Progressive Youth NGO in collaboration with Fryshuset. The project is funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden.
For one week, from 10 to 17th of March, Armenian Progressive Youth NGO with the support of European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe has been running an intensive and multicomponent Training Course in Yerevan for 30 young people from Tavush, Gegharkunik and Syunik regions in Armenia to develop greater, more informed civic engagement in their regions equipping them with digital tools and technologies. Participants have had the opportunity to be part of different sessions such as on e-activism, media literacy, fact-checking, online data protection, social media campaigns, podcasting and much more.
The overall project intends to support them to use internet and digital tools to build their community, connect with other similar-minded people outside their physical surroundings as well as lobby for their rights, raise funds and organize local community events mobilizing people through different online platforms.
The participants have already succeeded in generating 6 small campaign ideas they would like to start doing after the Training Course with the support of 2 APY mentors, but before that we decided to ask some questions to a few of them to see what they have learnt as a result of the Training and which sessions they liked the most.
One of the participants from Tavush region, city of Berd, Lilit said that she found the workshops on media literacy the most useful ones, even more, she passes on the skills she acquired during the course to her family members. Her favorite part of the training has been diving into creation of podcasts, she knew nothing about before.
Another participant of the training, Hrayr Dadikyan, was very interested in social media campaiging as well. Hrair and his team are already working out plans on how to share the knowledge received in their city of Martuni, in Gegharkunik region.
Milena Vanesyan, another participant added that she really liked having opportunity of doing team activities and practical exercises which is important for better understanding of new topics they had no idea about before.
Moreover, Karen Simonyan from Syunik is convinced that the training course helped him in his future professional career orientation. Karen wants to become a journalist and now he has more knowledge on media literacy and fact-checking.
Now the participants of the training course are already getting ready for the second stage of the project – campaign development. The second stage is planned to be held in April and May during which they will try to put their knowledge into practice and activate their local communities.
Remembrance of historical events is taking place in society in various ways, as in the shape of monuments and memorials. In many cases remembrance was prohibited in history and sites of historical events were hidden, demolished or as another strategy reinterpreted, so their meaning was not visible anymore.
The project will reveal the forbidden, forgotten and suppressed remembrance and analyze the forms of remembrance that took place instead, didn’t take place or took place in another form than usually known.
Who?
9 participants between 18 – 30 years from each country
During the project the participants will:
learn about events of history in the country of visit and about the mechanisms of remembrance and suppression of remembrance in specific cases
visit museums
visit NGOs in both countries to learn about the work of young local people to raise awareness on remembrance and its importance to deal with in each society.
take part in workshops and seminars
organize project work organized to learn about relevant topics and follow up to them

Part 2. Armenia 11.-17. of September 2022
The project language is English.
All the participants will have an opportunity to analyze the topic with different tools for expressing their points of view (photography, writing lyrics or prose, drawing etc.)
Participation is free and all expenses are reimbursed by the organizers.
