«Հայ առաջադեմ երիտասարդություն» հասարակական կազմակերպությունը Եվրոպական միության ֆինանսավորմամբ ընթացող և «Մարդը կարիքի մեջ» ՀԿ-ի կողմից իրականացվող Քովիդ-19 Համերաշխության ծրագրի ենթադրամաշնորհային միջոցներով իրականացնում է «Զբաղվածությանը նպաստող պետական և քաղհասարակության ոլորտի ծրագրերի արդյունավետության բարձրացում» շահերի պաշտպանության ծրագիրը:

Ծրագրի շրջանակներում մշակվել է տնտեսապես և սոցիալապես խոցելի անձանց տնտեսական ինտեգրմանը նպաստող մոդուլյար գործիքակազմ՝ դասընթացավարի ձեռնարկ, որը բաղկացած է 24 թեմաներից։

Ձեռնարկը պատրաստվել է Եվրոպական միության ֆինանսական աջակցությամբ:

Ձեռնարկի բովանդակության համար պատասխանատվություն է կրում «Հայ առաջադեմ երիտասարդություն» հասարակական կազմակերպությունը, և պարտադիր չէ, որ այն արտահայտի Եվրոպական միության տեսակետները:

Ներածություն

ՀՀ-ում զբաղվածության խթանումը ինչպես երիտասարդների, Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում զբաղվածության խթանումը ինչպես երիտասարդների, այնպես էլ մեծահասակների շրջանում առաջնահերթություն է։ Սրա մասին են վկայում թե՛ վիճակագրական տվյալները, թե՛ պետական ու ոչ պետական կառույցների աճող հետաքրքրվածությունն ու նախաձեռնողականությունը։ Հատկապես վերջին շրջանում սոցիալ-տնտեսական իրավիճակով պայմանավորված՝ զբաղվածության խնդրի առաջ կանգնածների թիվը բազմակի մեծացել է։ Բազմապատկվել է նաև զբաղվածություն և ձեռնարկատիրություն խթանող ծրագրերի թիվը, դրանց կարիքը ևայդպիսի ծրագրեր իրականացնող ամենատարբեր կազմակերպությունների ներգրավվածությունը։

Այս հիմնախնդրին անդրադարձել է նաև «Հայ առաջադեմ երիտասարդություն» հասարակական կազմակերպությունը՝ առաջարկելով ստեղծել տնտեսապես և սոցիալապես խոցելի անձանց տնտեսական ինտեգրմանը նպաստող մոդուլյար գործիքակազմ՝ դասընթացավարի ձեռնարկ:

Կազմակերպության կողմից խոցելի անձանց հետ աշխատանքում գործածված շուրջ 40 թեմաներից ընտրվել են այն 24 թեմաները, որոնք առավել կիրառելի են սեղմ ժամանակային միջակայք ունեցող ծրագրերում:

Այս ձեռնարկը նախատեսված է ոչ ֆորմալ ուսուցման սկզբունքներով և մեթոդաբանությամբ զբաղվածության պետական ևոչ պետական կազմակերպությունների, ինչպես նաև անհատ ուսուցանողների ու դասընթացավարների համար՝ նպաստելու ծրագրերին ներգրավված անհատների զբաղվածության և ձեռնարկատիրական հմտությունների զարգացմանը։

Learning to counter online hate speech through UP!

Over the past week, 40 youth workers, educators, and youth trainers from 14 countries have gathered in Dilijan to address and transform online hate speech in a safe and transformative way in the scope of “Unleashing the Power of Youth Work to Counter Online Hate Speech – UP!”. The project aims to equip young people with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to support their fight against online oppressive narratives, propaganda, and hate speech.

The project started with different activities that would help the group get familiar with each other as they were going to start working on their activities together. For the participants to understand hate speech better the group worked together to explore diversity, inclusion, and prejudice and talked about different stereotypes. After studying diversity thoroughly, the participants came up with scenarios for the “Theater of oppressed” which helped them look at things from different perspectives and discuss ways to help people who are facing discrimination. As a result, the participants prepared and conducted their activities and later on received feedback from each other.

Nikos, one of the project participants from Greece, shared his experience of participating in this project. “Nowadays, online hate speech is a very common problem we as youngsters face. This project was an amazing opportunity for me to learn more about hate speech and most importantly understand if there is a way to fight it. I also liked how the whole training was conducted and how much new information I gathered in only a few days. The skills that we gathered will be helpful for us when we get back home and start working on different projects to fight against hate speech”.

The project is implemented by the Armenian Progressive Youth NGO in collaboration with Jongeren voor Uitwisseling en Begrip (JUB). The project is funded under the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.

Ivana’s impressions of the ENHANCE seminar in Duisburg, Germany

Ivana from Bulgaria was one of the participants in the “Enhancing Diversity Management and Inclusion in Youth Work” project in Duisburg, Germany. Ivana says that she has participated in many projects but every time it feels like a brand-new experience. Below you can read our short Q&A with Ivana who expresses her ideas and shares her experience with us.

When you think about the week in Germany, what comes to mind first?

On the way to the seminar, I did not even think about how much the project could have impacted me. We all gathered in an amazing hotel, which became our world and home to work on a problem we still fail to erase from our societies. When working on social topics in an international environment one of the most important things is to make sure the participants work as a team and I am thankful to the trainers who made sure everyone was involved..

What was something interesting you learned in the ENHANCE seminar?

The seminar taught us to be aware of others living in our society. Not only to be aware of others but also to be more tolerant and acceptive since we do not know the story of the person next to us. We talked about many stereotypes defining many people’s lives but also how we can overcome them and improve our society. Speaking of stereotypes, we have to underline that they can be both positive and negative but, in any case, it is crucial to not become a part of spreading stereotypes.

What specific skills or ideas did you take home from the week?

I have been working on projects related to social inclusion and diversity for years. Even then, I did not hear a lot about social inclusion or diversity. I have always been looking forward to living in a place that featured those two concepts. Coming from a quite narrow-minded society where the majority of people bully each other for whatever reason, I never wanted to be a part of it. Being part of this seminar just made me feel happy that many other young people like me want our society to improve. The greatest thing we always take from such an event is the new friendships that are formed based on our mutual interests and ideas. Some amazing tools for raising awareness are among the things I will keep with me for my future work in the field. After all, I hope that soon more places in this world will be able proudly called diverse and inclusive since every culture and background carry many good features which deserve to be appreciated.

Do you think the seminar will have an impact on your future activities/work in general?

The workshops held during the seminar were an inspiring environment for future work in the field. As a person with experience on the topic, I can say that I practiced a variety of tools, which I am always excited to see in action in different groups of participants. I have also learned some new practices, which I would want to use later on.

After the Seminar, what is something that you will remember from the week: regarding content and general activities?

I will remember the fellow participants with whom I had great connections from day one. I will also remember the way each one of us being different made our way within the team to establish a group of young people who are seeking the better for our future. It was so nice to be part of it and to see how each one of us had unique features, which contributed to the success of the whole group.

Valeria from Moldova shares her impressions of MANDALA

Diverse! Energetic! Inspiring!

Those were the three words Valeria used to describe the Seminar in Dilijan.

From October 10 to October 17, more than 35 youngsters from 12 different countries gathered in Dilijan, Armenia, in the scope of “Managing Diversity for a more inclusive youth work” (Mandala) seminar to enhance their knowledge of the implementation of diverse and inclusive youth work.

Valeria was one of the participants from Moldova and has been volunteering at the Organisation “Youth Center for Cooperation”. This was one of the reasons why the topic of diversity and inclusion in Youth Work interested her and she decided to apply to come to Armenia. This was an amazing opportunity for her to network with people from different countries who shared her interests.

“Only by experiencing diversity, we get to acknowledge how to manage it, which is exactly what we did in Dilijan and which I couldn’t have learned on my own. Besides widening my knowledge on the topic, which I achieved in the first part of the project, I could learn more about the other participants and their cultures. That was not only relatable but profound as well.”

Furthermore, her understanding of diversity and inclusive actions “improved step by step and fact by the fact”. “I learned a bunch of new methods and techniques of how to encourage young people to participate and to engage in activities. I also learned how to properly facilitate a reflection and how important it is to debrief activities and to acknowledge objective facts.”

She also says that the impact will have a positive effect on how she approaches future activities and her work in general: “I will from now on work with people, trying to create an equal and open space for sharing and expressing. Being impressed with how the facilitators managed to do every activity with patience and guidance, I got inspired to use the same methods, pieces of advice and working techniques, so that I will have the same effect on the people that I will be working with. She says she valued the Seminar week because “it again opened her eyes to facts and realities behind cultures, behind stereotypes and of course behind people. It contained the perfect place, the perfect atmosphere, and the perfect people from which to learn, to have fun with, and to open up in a trusting way.”

“It was more than informative, it was comforting, it was a breath of fresh air, and it felt like home for 7 wonderful days! Thank you all!”

Փոխըմբռնման hուշագիր «Հայ առաջադեմ երիտասարդություն» ՀԿ-ի և ՄՍԾ-ի միջև

Ուրախ ենք տեղեկացնել, որ «Հայ առաջադեմ երիտասարդություն» ՀԿ-ն և Հայաստանի Հանրապետության աշխատանքի և սոցիալական հարցերի նախարարության միասնական սոցիալական ծառայությունը կնքել են փոխըմբռնման հուշագիր։

Հուշագրով հիմք է դրվում երկարաժամկետ համագործակցության, որի շրջանակներում կողմերը նպատակ ունեն համագործակցել հետևյալ հիմնական ուղղություններով՝

● Համատեղ զարգացնել տնտեսապես և սոցիալապես խոցելի իրավիճակում հայտնված անձանց տնտեսական ինտեգրմանն ուղղված ուսումնամեթոդական բազան։
● Մշակել և տարածել տնտեսապես և սոցիալապես խոցելի անձանց տնտեսական ինտեգրմանը նպաստող մոդուլյար գործիքակազմ:
● Առցանց և առերես քննարկումների միջոցով գործիքակազմը ներկայացնել ՄՍԾ աշխատակիցներին և փոխանցել դրա կիրառման լավագույն փորձը (մասնավորապես ՄՍԾ տարածքային կենտրոններում):
● Ներգրավել ՄՍԾ Զբաղվածության ապահովման և աշխատանքային ներուժի զարգացման վարչության աշխատակիցներին ձեռնարկի ֆորմատի և թեմատիկ առաջնահերթությունների վերհանման և ձևակերպման գործընթացում:
● Փորձարկել գործիքակազմը ՄՍԾ աշխատակիցների կողմից շահառուների հետ աշխատանքում։ Միասնական սոցիալական ծառայության տարածքային կենտրոնների աշխատակիցների համար իրականացնել կարողությունների զարգացման և գործիքակազմի կիրառության դասընթաց։
● Միասնական սոցիալական ծառայության 49 աշխատակիցների կողմից գործիքակազմի կիրառում զբաղվածության ոլորտում պետական ծրագրերի շահառուների հետ աշխատանքի գործընթացում։

Լիահույս ենք, որ այս համագործակցությունը հնարավորություն կտա համատեղ ջանքերով բարելավել խոցելի խմբերին ուղղված պետական և քաղաքացիական հասարակության զբաղվածությանն ուղղված ծրագրերի արդյունավետությունը, ինչն էլ կնպաստի խոցելի խմբերի տնտեսական ակտիվության բարձրացմանը, գործազրկության նվազմանը և սոցիալ-տնտեսական իրավիճակի բարելավմանը։

Learning about diverse and inclusive youth work through Mandala

Over the past week, more than 35 youngsters from 12 different countries gathered in Dilijan, Armenia, in the scope of “Managing Diversity for a more inclusive youth work” (Mandala) seminar to enhance their knowledge of the implementation of diverse and inclusive youth work.

The main objective of the seminar was to teach the participants about the mechanisms that could be used to spread awareness on the topic of diversity within youth work and the importance of inclusive project design/management. The seminar was also an opportunity for the participants to create international connections as youth workers and use those connections for the benefit of their communities.

The training seminar started off with many interactive games and tasks, that promoted team building which would help the participants to get to know each other. Then the group quickly dove into the theoretical background of the topic and was, therefore, able to get a more profound understanding of the role of a diverse mindset and inclusion for youth work and for society. As a part of these theoretical inputs, the participants learned about stereotypes, prejudice, and inclusion, the technique of the “6 thinking hats” and the “pyramid of hate”. Besides the theoretical education on the general topic, the facilitators enacted a series of practical activities to give the participants a chance to practically use their knowledge.

Pursuing that objective, our participants formed groups and became facilitators for a couple of hours. Working in groups they prepared and implemented an interactive non-formal learning session which included democratic discussions, a group task on ethnocentrism, and a game that shines a spotlight on the privileges you have. As a result, the participants mastered skills that they can take back home and use in their own communities.

Besides the daily activities and sessions held by the facilitators, the participants also organized cultural nights to offer an insight into the traditions and cultural elements of their countries. They also had a study visit to the “YCCD”-NGO to learn about a local NGO which promotes social entrepreneurship and helps people find employment through training courses. One of the highlights for the participants was the trip to Sevanavank Monastery to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Sevan.

Johann from Germany shares his impressions about his first visit to Armenia in the scope of the German-Armenian Youth Exchange project

“Due to the German-Armenian Youth Exchange project I was introduced to a historic country and warm-hearted people and this means the world to me.”

Johann, one of the participants of the German-Armenian Youth Exchange project from Leipzig, Germany, shares his impressions of Armenia and his experience as a project participant. “I have been really into the history and development of Post-Soviet countries so knowing that I was going to visit Armenia was very exciting for me. Right from the beginning, I wanted to get to know the people of Armenia and explore the beautiful country as much as I could. Once I got to Armenia, I realized that it is much more special than I thought. Even though it’s a smaller country, its history, and rich culture are extremely impressive.”

“The focus of the project was on cultural remembrance, so I wanted to learn more about the Armenian Genocide and the way the Armenian society deals with it today. This is why the most memorable day for me was the day when we visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex. Visiting the Genocide Museum gave me a very exciting view of Armenian history during its darkest years. The impressions still remain in my mind deeply. I also enjoyed the time we spent in Gyumri and was incredibly touched by the beautiful landscape. All the way down from Yerevan to Gyumri I was wondering how lovely Armenia is.”

“Beside all the cruelty of history (and even nowadays), my group members from Armenia presented their country in the best way possible. Everything was well organized and I really enjoyed the way our warm-hearted Armenian hosts treated us. I felt that everyone really values the national identity, traditions and the successes of their ancestors. I have been introduced to a warm-hearted culture and that’s the main success for me in this project.”

German – Armenian Youth Project

From September 11 to September 17, Armenian Progressive Youth hosted the second phase of the German Armenian Youth Project in Armenia. The first phase of the project took place in Dresden, Germany from June 4-10 where 9 Armenian participants alongside participants from Germany uncovered the Unseeable and Unsayable histories of the two countries.

The aim of the “Invisible and Unsayable – Unveiling Hidden Remembrance” Youth project was to reveal the forbidden, forgotten, and suppressed remembrance and analyze the forms of remembrance that took place instead, didn’t take place or took place in another form than is usually known.

The first half of the project was planned in Yerevan and during the second half of the project, the participants visited the second biggest city in Armenia – Gyumri. Throughout the one week of the project, the participants learned about the history of Armenia while visiting the National History Museum, the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, and Komitas Institute. After the visits, the participants evaluated the day and shared their ideas and emotions with each other. At the end of the second day, they also had a lovely walk in Kond to explore one of the oldest parts of Yerevan.

On their way to Gyumri, the group stopped by the fortress of Talin to learn about its history of the fortress. Talin is a small town in Armenia so it was a great chance for the participants to get to see the rural part of Armenia as well. In Gyumri, the participants visited the Aslamazyan Sisters Museum, and the Museum of National Architecture and Urban Life and had a bus city tour. On the last day of the project, the participants took part in an art workshop where they learned about art in Gyumri and got to make their own souvenirs.

Throughout the whole project, the participants have been working on short texts about their experiences, feelings, and emotions of learning about a foreign country. Those pieces will be put together and posted soon.
